The Week Ahead - Key Events and Focus
|
|
|
Corporate earnings calendar will be relatively slow as earnings releases will be at a minimum next week, with CASY, FRAN, OXM, KR, ADBE, and PLAY as notables. However, there will be an uptick in Brokerage conferences, and analyst meetings.
On the economic front we will see US
consumer credit and Jolts jobs report to start the week with PPI on Wednesday as well as Import / export prices on Friday. Abroad look for China CPI and PPI on Monday rate decision from EcB and BoE on Thursday and China Industrial production on Friday
On Wednesday, Apple has an event to unveil new iPhones
S&P bullish sentiment has dropped to 63% from a recent peak of 80% whereas the Nasdaq 100 bullish sentiment has dropped further to 52% (and near the important majority line of 50%) from a recent peak of 83%. Friday's market action showed signs of a confused market with 20 day highs and lows within the S&P 500 at 63 on both sides. This would have triggered my modified Hindenburg Omen if the McClellan Oscillator was up on the day.
