The Week Ahead - Key Events and Focus

Another relatively quiet week ahead on the corporate calendar a few notable releases include but aren't limited to (BABA, JILL, KSS, MDT, TJX, JKHY, LOW, TGT, LB, GPS, ADSK, HPQ, VMW, FL).

Like the Corporate calendar the economic calendar will be relatively slow with Housing data out earlier in the week FOMC meeting minutes out Wednesday, and US PMIs on Thursday. US-China trade negotiations are expected on Wed and Thurs next week. Finally the Kansas City Fed Symposium will take place starting Thursday through Saturday in Jackson, WY

S&P bullish sentiment ended the week at 70% bulls, exactly as it ended the previous week but during this past week it did drop down to 58%.  Sentiment remains elevated although well off the recent extreme highs of 85%.  US Dollar bullish sentiment ended the week at 81% down from Tuesday's extreme reading of 96% bulls.  On Friday, the S&P 500, S&P 100 and Dow Jones Industrial Average has DeMark Sequential upside exhaustion signals.  A pullback should occur within the next 10 days.  How much is impossible to predict but the last upside signals were in January and a 10% drop occurred shortly after the signals.
