The Week Ahead - Key Events and Focus


A holiday shortened week has another light week of earnings and economic reports.  The two earnings reports that will get the most attention will be Tuesday before the bell - Home Depot and Walmart.  Economic reports will be light in the US while Wednesday's Fed Minutes midday will be something people will pay attention to considering last weeks CPI inflation report.  On Thursday, the ECB minutes will be released and should be picked over too.   

Bullish sentiment for the S&P a week from last Thursday hit 9% and this week it increased to 52% on Thursday and ended the week at 46%.  My thought that bullish sentiment would increase to the midpoint 50% was achieved after 6 straight up days.  The lower high bounce scenario is still intact and we should see some stalling out this week and perhaps some concerns about the Fed with Wednesday's minutes.  I hope to put out a short note tomorrow.  Thanks to all the watched the webinar.  We are going to do more in the future - shorter and more focused on specific topics or markets.  Here's the link if you didn't get a chance to watch.
