The Week Ahead - Key Events and Focus


The week ahead gets off to a delayed start with markets closed in observance of Memorial Day on Monday.  It will be a very busy week especially Friday June 1st with all of the most watched economic reports including employment, PMI's, and ISM.  

Notable earnings during the week include but are not limited to: CRM, HPQ, ADI, DKS, KORS, BOX, GES, AEO, DG, DLTR, JILL, COST, LULU, VMW, WDAY ANF. A handful of Brokerage conferences round out the corporate week with Deutsche Bank, KeyBank, Cowen, and Bernstein holding events.

On the Economic calendar, domestically the market sees Consumer Confidence and Case Shiller index on Tuesday, and Friday is huge with PMI numbers, Employment reports and ISM non manufacturing out later in the week. Outside the US, focus will be on Manufacturing PMI in China and Euro-zone for May and ISMs from China out Friday morning.

S&P 500 bullish sentiment ended Friday at 45%.   

I'll have the weekly Currency Focus email out tomorrow.  It will be an important read as I expect this week will see some key exhaustion signals combined with some extreme sentiment readings.
